CANZ WITHDRAW INDUSTRIAL ACTION

The planned strike at Hawkes Bay Prison by catering staff on Christmas day, has been averted.

The union and the employer met in mediation in Napier today and a new proposal will be taken out to prison instructors for ratification as soon as possible in the New Year.
