27 January 2006 - CANZ Instructors Reject CIE Offer
|
|
The offer put to the Correction Instructors just before Christmas has been turned down by an 80% vote against the offer put to them by CIE. “CIE a sub department of the Department of Corrections offered the instructors a 2% pay cut and loss of terms and conditions” said Beven Hanlon the President of CANZ. He went on to say “that it is not surprising that this was turned down. CIE has been in operation for over 4 years now and the CANZ instructors have never had a pay increase.” “CIE have however given their managers at least 2 pay rises in this time and also 8 staff that are not in a union.” “With the loss of over 20 industries since CIE started the Instructors have done a dam fine job of turning this sub department around yet they are not being acknowledged for the hard work they do” said Beven.
