TAKE NOTICE that the Corrections Association of New Zealand (“the Union”) who has initiated and is a party to bargaining on behalf of all employees who are:

(1) its members; and

(2) covered by the bargaining; and

(3) employed by Corrections Inmate Employment (formerly known as Corrland Inmate Employment) (“CIE”) at the CIE pre-cast yards named in this notice; and

(4) employed in an essential service and at places where the essential service is carried on within the meaning of Part A of the First Schedule of the Employment Relations Act 2000.

Hereby give no less than fourteen (14) days notice of strike action.


NATURE OF THE PROPOSED STRIKE
The proposed strike will be that the CIE Instructors will partially discontinue their employment by only working between the hours of 7:00am to 3:00pm Monday to Friday, on a continuous basis.


PLACE WHERE THE PROPOSED STRIKE WILL OCCUR
The proposed strike will occur at the CIE pre-cast yards at Auckland Prison, Paremoremo and Wanganui Prison, Wanganui.


DATE WHEN THE STRIKE WILL BEGIN
The proposed strike will begin on 0001 hours on Monday 13 March 2006 for an indefinite period.
