AP Muster Allowance Accepted - 17 May 2006 |
|
As you all know the vote has been taken and it was close to unanimous. Just 1 vote against accepting this offer. B Noakes and W Cochrane are in Wellington tomorrow and will be signing this document. I have spoken with the minister about our concerns about the AP staff that are not receiving the $18 dollars a day and how we intend to resolve this matter. He has given an assurance that he will look into this and see what he can do. A letter to initiate bargaining will be in the hands of the CEO by this Friday and we are hoping that the department is taking the same approach to these talks as they are with the PPS ones. In the sense that they are setting a side a week to try and get their contract settled. This is the approach that we intend to take so that we have a settled contract quickly for you all. I would like to remind you all that I am still interested in any of the information that I asked for at the meetings. This information can be emailed to my home address bjandbev@xtra.co.nz to me at work or sent to the CANZ office in Auckland. The address is in you diary. Thank you to the staff that have supplied this information already and I look forward to getting more. What I require from you all, is nominations for representatives to be on the Action team. I already have a rep for the Neg team from when I asked last year. The Action team should consist of a rep from each region and be a mix of admin, trade etc if possible. The action team will be helping to put together your claims and then they will be contacted via con call after each day’s talks to make sure you Neg team aren’t getting carried away. So if you are interested please send me an email by this Friday stating which team you would like to be on. If we get enough interest we will have to conduct a vote in the very near future.
