NEGOTIATIONS CONTINUE

 

The CANZ Negotiating Team met with the Departments Representatives in Auckland today to continue discussions regarding the CANZ – PS Collective Agreement.

 

The parties continue to make good progress, and it has been agreed to meet again probably around the 28th – 29th April to attempt to agree on a proposal for Ratification.

 

The Union will also be expecting a further response from the Department regarding the ACRP Collective Agreement at these up coming meetings.

 

The parties also spent some time discussing the Terms of Reference for the Workplace Practices Project.

 

 

SENIOR MANAGEMENT MEETING

 

The CANZ National Officers Barry Noakes, Willie Cochrane, Beven Hanlon and Elvin Brooking are to meet with the Department of Corrections Chief Executive Barry Matthews, General Manager Harry Hawthorn and other Senior Management team members in Wellington on Monday 21st April to discuss commitments to improving the relationship between CANZ and the Department.

 

A commitment to improving the relationship was raised by the Department at the recent negotiations and the Union is entering into this discussion in a positive manner.
