23 July 2008
PAY DAY – THE UNION
DELIVERS
As CANZ members most
of you would have accessed your pay advice slips for the period ending 23 July
2008 and noticed that the back dating of the 3% effective 1st
January has been included.
Also the
appropriate increase in both the employer and employee contribution to the respective
superannuation schemes has been made.
The next payment
will be the payment of the one off lump sum payment of $750 gross will be
included in the pay period ending 6th August 2008.
Alternative
Holidays - Crediting of a day in lieu for full time rostered workers where the
public holiday (except ANZAC Day and Waitangi Day) falls on a rostered day off
and they do not work. Re-crediting of
these days back to and including 1 January 2008 will be worked on as a separate
coordinated exercise between Payroll National Office and local staff. More detail
for this exercise will follow shortly.
It is our
understanding that unrepresented staff will be receiving some form of written
communication next week offering them a variation to their terms and conditions
of employment. We have not yet received a response from PS about the content of
the IEA being offered however there is every indication that it will not be dissimilar to ours.
CANZ obviously
has serious concerns regarding the stance of PS in regards to unrepresented
staff and will continue to explore what type of action can be taken in regards
to hard earned improvements to union’s member’s terms and conditions being
handed onto these individuals.
If you have
questions about your pay please contact your payroll person if you have no joy
with them pass it on to your local unit delegate.
We will continue
to update you as more information becomes available.

National Officers
