CANZ Special Fund Committee Report –
December 2008
Welcome
to our first report. The CANZ Special
Fund committee meet several times a year.
Our key responsibilities are to manage the Special Fund, and ensure that
the fund is being used for the purpose that our members and our rules
stipulate.
On
Friday 05 December 2008 the committee met for this purpose. The members of this committee are:
Gae
Wyatt – Northern Region Representative
Debbie
Laurent Brown – Central Region Representative
Glenda
Ropiha – Southern Region Representative
Elvin
Brooking – CANZ National Treasurer
In
future publications, we will have profiles on each Representative, so you can
get to know your area rep a little better.
At
the December meeting we met our newly elected member from the Central Region,
Debbie Laurent Brown. Debbie comes from
Hawkes Bay Regional Prison, and takes over from Reuben Clisby. Thank you to Reuben for his services to the
Special Fund, and welcome to Debbie.
The
committee members reviewed the BNZ bank statements for the period May –
November 2008, taking in to account how the payments have been tracking to
date.
Auditors
have conducted a full review of the Special Fund from when it was established
(1997), taking in to account membership numbers, payments and tax. The outcome of this audit reflects that the
Special Fund is currently where it should be.
The
Special Fund has reached the Million Dollar mark, and this is an achievement
that we need to be proud of. This
milestone was the catalyst for this report being created, with the aim of
keeping our members informed of the progress of the Special Fund, and also to
assure our members that we are being transparent in our monitoring of the fund.
Until next time, wishing you and
your families a safe and enjoyable Christmas.

Special Fund Committee
